Week 3 Digital Photography

Posted by Picasa
I hope this collage looks as cool online as it did in the Picaso program. I had fun taking these pictures in the macro setting. This was definately something I had never done before and I am extreemly pleased as well as surprised at the images that I took. I am still having trouble with white objects washing out. I made sure flash was off, waited for the camera to focus, tried blocking some of the light but still as you can see by the daisy, white washed out.
By the way these pictures were taken during a walk of my neighborhood and most of the subjects were found growing wild.

  1. Jackie,

The mixed array of flowers and greenery gives your collage a sense of being in a forest or
jungle. All of your pictures look clear and have great lighting within them. Great Job.
This could even be the making of a calender.

  2. I love photographing flowers so your collage caught my eye. I was drawn to the right lower corner due to all the colors.
I had an art teach back in high school tell me that if you want a person's eye to see the entire picture make pick one color and place it here and there in the picture. I don't know if it's true but in your photo I get stuck in the lower right corner. Maybe it's just me.
I like the way you composed the collage. Nothing overlapping... some photos big some small. allowing you to put more emphasis on certain photos than others.
    Great job.

  3. I actually love the way they all fit together! It looks great. When it comes to the daisy and being washed out- did you play with any of the settings in Picasa? Theres a shadowing tool that might help get some contrast back into pictures like this one.

  4. Thanks everyone. I didn't realize until after I posted my collage that Picaso would actually allow me to click and drag the pics to the location I chose rather than a computer shuffle. AFter I figured that out I did go back and rearrange the colors a bit.

Sam I did try the editing options withe the daisy which is why it looks kind of ok.

  6. I love how bright your college is! I wish mine could have been brighter, but I did take my photo's in the rain! LOL. Did you play with the lighting effects or other effects with your college? I happen to think it looks fine the way it is! Thank you for sharing!

  10. I adore the format of this collage. The white borders and the very structured cells give a very clean and neat feel, it fits with the bright, cheerful images.
