This photo was taken with the barn centered. It is an ok picture
but does not keep ones attention.
I like this shot much better. I love the texture on the barn and the red/green contrast.
This photo does follow the thirds rule with only 1/3 of the sky visable.

Jackie,
ReplyDeleteI have always meant to mention your photo of the white flower on your opening is beautifully photographed.
I think the balance and color harmony in the barn photo was great. I like the shot that is closer aswell.

I agree with you. I like the picture of the barn...it captures something from the past and gives you something to remember and dream up of the times before us. The second shot however, pulls your eye more towards the lines, and details of the barn itself, and the bright color of the green complimets the red very well! Nicely done this week!
ReplyDeleteI agree! I like both shots but I think that the second one is more interesting because of the lines and how the roof pitch and roof lines make your eyes sweep across the entire photo. I also think that the contrast between the light sky and the red and then the green on the bottom really works and is very appealing to the eye. Nice work!
ReplyDeleteI actually prefer the first image over the second. In the second the barn seems to take over the entire shot - it's too overwhelming in size and value. I think this is largely in response to the very large portion of the shot that the roof is in, the texture and color catch your eye and keep it from going anywhere else due to the larger amount of photo space dedicated to the singular texture. The first photo has a very rustic appearance, especially since it is set against a blue sky and a green earth (both cool colors). It just has more appeal to it than the second.
